- I am an experienced United States traveler -- I have now been to all 50 of our States, visiting Hawaii in celebration of my 40th birthday! I call this accomplishment 40=50, stealing a page from Joe Maddon, the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, and his 9=8 (Nine players playing together will be one of the eight playoff teams at the end). I have also excelled in weight loss. On January 4, 2008, I weighed 265 pounds; I most recently weighed myself, on the last day of my Hawaii trip, after eating out every meal, at 127. Thus the name "better half" -- I have cut my weight by more than half, and am much better for it! :) In this blog I will detail my literal journey around our wonderful nation, as well as my figurative journey to greater physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
